Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Jianou Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”), the maker of Splities. By creating an account or using Splities, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

What Splities does

Splities helps you keep track of shared expenses and who owes whom. It doesn’t move money, process payments or give financial advice. Balances are worked out from what you and your group enter, so check them before you pay anyone.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13 to use Splities.
  • Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
  • You’re responsible for what happens in your account.

Your content

What you add to Splities stays yours. You let us store it, sync it and show it to the people in your groups, only so we can run Splities. Only add other people’s names and details that you’re comfortable sharing with the group.

Groups

The person who creates a group owns it. Owners can invite and remove people, and can delete the group, which deletes it for everyone. Anyone in a group can add expenses and record payments, and can leave the group at any time.

Fair use

Please don’t:

  • use Splities for anything unlawful, or to harass or mislead people;
  • try to access groups or accounts that aren’t yours, or share invite codes to give people access they shouldn’t have;
  • interfere with Splities or the systems it runs on.

Availability

We work to keep Splities running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, pause or stop features. If your records matter to you, keep your own copy too.

Ending your use

You can stop using Splities and delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Splities is provided “as is”, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, for disagreements between members of a group, or for payments made based on balances in the app. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can’t be excluded.

Apple

If you downloaded Splities from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn’t responsible for Splities or its support.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and let you know in the app about significant changes. If you keep using Splities after that, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
